Our second Antelope Valley Christian Writers’ Conference, this past Spring, exceeded our expectations.  It was quite
encouraging to see our prayers answered, with dozens of attendees and several distinguished faculty present.  In fact, we
are pleased to report that our attendance increased by over one-third!

The next conference promises to be even better.  Whether you’re an absolute beginner – a seasoned
professional – or somewhere in-between, this may be for you.  If  you enjoy writing, and you’d like to learn how the
publishing business works, you are welcome to attend.

This time around, we have secured a new and more spacious location!  We will meet in the facilities of The Antelope
Valley Church, a non-denominational congregation on the Westside of the city of Lancaster.  Complimentary refreshments
and a continental breakfast will be provided.  Several budget-priced hotels are in the local area for your convenience.

What’s Your Passion?

What is it that inspires you to write?  Is it history, or romance, or theology, or mystery?  Do you enjoy writing sci-fi, or
fantasy?  Or perhaps you feel moved to write the Great American Novel.   Please don’t be misled by the name of our
conference: We are Christians who write, but most of us don’t write about religious themes.

As we know, God gives different gifts to different people.  For some, they feel called to preach.  For others, they travel
far and wide as missionaries.  Some serve God with music, others with gifts of bookkeeping or teaching or administration.
We may have different roles, but we all share the same mission to serve God and his people.

Clearly, writers are a unique breed.  For us, the Lord has given us the special gift of putting pen to paper to share a
message.  We have a passion to take a simple story and build it into a finished product that will inspire others.  For some it
may be a lucrative full-time career. For others, it’s a rewarding pastime. But wherever you come from – and wherever
you want to go – we are all motivated by the simple joy of telling a story.

At the Antelope Valley Christian Writers’ Conference, we can help you get there.

Here, you will have the opportunity to interact with professional writers and editors, and attend workshops in a wide array
of creative categories. You’ll meet fellow writers who share your calling – your zeal – and perhaps your frustrations as
well. You can trade ideas, share experiences, and support one another in prayer.

In the general session, and in the workshops, we will discuss:

How can you improve your writing skills?

How should a Christian approach his writing?

What’s keeping you from getting published?

What do editors and publishers look for, when evaluating a manuscript?

We offer aspiring writers (and published authors) the opportunity to learn about the industry, expand your network, build
your platform, and follow God’s leading to spread the message he has placed on your heart. Hone your craft and achieve
your goals through excellent instruction and one-on-one mentoring. Together, we can help you take your writing to the
next level, the best it can be.

Our past faculty have included local author Dorothy Howell, financial expert
Ellie Kay, novelist Lauraine Snelling, and
pastor/professor
Tim Riter.  For the latest on our instructor lineup, please see the Faculty page.

We hope you will seize this opportunity to gain fresh inspiration for your writing, and perhaps a little encouragement for
yourself as well.

See you there!
